Below is a list of all the people and businesses that were really helpful for me pre-Frankie and post-Frankie. This is my own personal reference guide that I thought I would share:
Child Proofzone: I called the usual places for baby proofing and then a friend recommended a guy who used to work for one of the child proofing places and started his own business. His name is Ra'anan and he came the next day and did a great job. I highly recommend this company for those ready to baby proof.

Sleep Doula: As I mentioned in one of my very first posts, Tracey Ruiz changed my life! She taught Frankie to self-soothe in two days which led him to him sleeping through the night. I can't say enough good things about her

Night Nurse: For those looking for recommedations for night nurses, Vena Smith is amazing. She has a way about her that is just very calming for both you and the baby. Plus, I had no clue how to do anything like bathe the baby, sterilize etc and she taught me all. I really couldn't have survived the first few weeks without her. Book her ASAP because she fills up quick 416-788-0395
Wee Care: Are you looking to hire a nanny? This company was recommended to me by dozens of people and they were right! They were wonderful to deal with took the stress away (when I called a million times freaking out about something). Some of their services include: hiring from overseas, hiring locally and helping with papers if you hired elsewhere. If you have any questions, they are the people to ask. I am going to post more about them in a seperate blog post.

Lactation Consultant/Pre-Natal: I used Wendy Goodman's services for feeding support as Frankie was eating every two hours throughout the day and night (when he was 2 months) and I was having a very hard time getting longer stretches out of him. I was told to call Wendy and she helped me get him from 2 hours to 6 hours during the night. She previously was a nurse, so I felt very comfortable with whatever she told me to do. Side Note: she also does pre-natal classes.

Marcy Cares: Don't be ashamed to ask for help! If your family is away and you need some time to yourself, you can call Marcy Cares and they will send a caregiver to your house to help you. I needed someone in a pinch and they were able to help me no problem. I had a different person each time and they were all wonderful.

Mother Risk: I am sure everyone pregnant woman has this number on auto-dial, but just incase you don't and/or you don't know who they are, they are the peopel you call after your mom and ask them a million questions on foods you can eat, medications you can take etc. 416-813-6780.

Telehealth: Another number you need to have on speed dial ladies ... or gentlemen! I cant even begin to count the amount of times I called them in the middle of the night freaking out about something Frankie did that I didnt know how to deal with (and obviously dr's arent available). For those of us who are first time moms, this line is extremly helpful. One problem, there is usually quite a long wait time for a nurse to call you back, but it's worth the wait. 1-866-797-0000
Orange Dot: If you are trying to figure out whether to do pre-natal or not, I highly recommend it. It's not only for the classes, but a lot of woman say (and I agree), you meet some of your closest/best friends from these classes and those girls are your outlet once you have the baby. They also have a post-natal program with great speakers like wendy goodman, sandy cole, tracey ruiz etc, hardcore work out classes for those who want to lose their baby weight quick, toddler programs and summer camps. Orange dot has a ton more classes that are not listed above, check out their website for more information

Taxes for Nannies: Their name says it all. Just when you thought the worst part is done, you get hit with figuring out how to do your nannies taxes. This can be very confusing if you dont have a tax background!! Wee Care recommended this company and Gila (the owner) came over, told me what I needed to do, answered all my questions and said she would take care of it all for the year. STRESS FREE TAXES!!!

RESP: Probably the most important purchase you will ever make! If you haven't started thinking about getting your child an RESP, you might want to start (when your ready of course). We went with a company called the Canadian Scholarship Trust Plan, working with Iris Raif (who was referred to me). She came over, went through everything very thoroughly with both my husband and I and answered any questions we had. I highly recommend her services!

Sandy Cole: For those having a baby in the middle of winter, this is a great way to get out of the house. Here is where you talk about any problems you are having and have all your questions answered. The topics of each class, I found very informative and relevant. Sandy was amazing with me as she knew I was having a really tough time with Frankie and she would call me to see if I wanted a break that I could bring Frankie to her house and I could go out for a bit or even after the class she offered to let me lie down for a bit (so sweet right?!). It's also another great way to meet moms who had babies around the same time as you.
